Bullinger as a Theologian

G.W. Bromiley unfairly described Bullinger’s writings as “pedestrian” compared to those of Zwingli. However, he failed to give due consideration to the context of Bullinger’s works.

E.A. Dowey is closer to the mark.

“Bullinger’s theology may be chatacterised as:

1. biblical in root
2. orthodox and catholic in intent
3. dominated by churchly motifs in expression
4. historical in conceptuality
5. comprehensive in scope”
